Job summary

Tufts Medicine is seeking a friendly Receptionist to support the Merrimack Valley Cardiology team in North Chelmsford, MA. You will greet patients and visitors, answer phones, schedule and coordinate tasks, and support daily operations with professionalism.

Responsibilities include directing calls, assisting patients with transports, processing check-ins/outs, and maintaining HIPAA confidentiality while collaborating with care teams to keep the clinic running smoothly.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year related office/clerical experience.
• Experience with phone systems or switchboard.
• 2 years of medical office experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors and direct to staff.
• Assist patients with wheelchair or transport calls.
• Direct visitors to care units, clinics, or physicians.
• Receive flowers and packages for patients and ensure delivery.
• Handle desk mail and courier parcels as needed.
• Answer and route phone calls quickly and accurately.
• Transfer calls to the requested staff member.
• Provide clinic times and service information when available.
• Update and maintain telephone lists.
• Report issues with telephone service to supervisor.
• Maintain patient religious affiliations file and arrange clergy visits.
• Adhere to confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines.
• Perform check-in and check-out duties as necessary.
