A leading healthcare organization in Phoenix is seeking a Medical Receptionist to be the first point of contact for patients. This role involves greeting patients, managing appointments, verifying insurance, and providing essential support services. **Responsibilities**
The Medical Receptionist is the first point of contact for our patients and is responsible for greeting, registering, and scheduling patient appointments. Responsibilities include verifying insurance eligibility and benefits, collecting co-payments, and obtaining routine financial information to facilitate payment plans and Medicare coverage. The role also involves answering phones, providing information to patients, and managing complex financial data to secure payment plans, charity care, Medicare coverage, and alternative financing. May obtain prior authorizations for visits or tests and enter charge data as required. Other duties may be assigned.
+ Perform clerical duties such as maintaining deposit logs, preparing schedules and reports, and managing provider schedules with analytical skills.
+ Ensure a positive customer service environment in reception areas.
+ Oversee the waiting area and coordinate patient movement, reporting problems as needed.
+ Handle multi-line phones and operate computers, fax, and copy machines.
+ Complete full patient registration in IDX, ensuring all information is current and accurate. Verify insurance eligibility and benefits.
+ Obtain, verify, and update patient demographic and insurance information.
+ Provide support services to patients and medical staff.
Dignity Health offers an Education Benefit program providing debt relief and student loan assistance—up to $18,000 over five years for full-time employees and $9,000 for part-time employees. **Qualifications**
**MINIMUM**
Basic computer skills required.
**PREFERRED**
High School Diploma / GED.
Previous experience in medical office or insurance preferred.
Bi-lingual skills are a plus.

**Pay Range**
$18.00 - $20.38 /hour
