Position Summary: The receptionist is responsible for supporting office operations and works independently and interdependently with other office staff to provide efficient, cost-effective, and quality patient care.

Employment Type: Full-time

Shift: Day Shift

Description: Located at 5301 Genesee St.

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:

  • Promote a healthy work environment
  • Work collaboratively with CNY Family Group
  • Review CCDs for CNY Family Group and route to appropriate team members
  • Collaborate and communicate regularly with management regarding goals, needs/concerns
  • Phone support – Incoming and outgoing calls
  • Scanning and faxing documentation

General Performance Criteria:

  • Perform critical job functions that lead to a streamlined and efficient patient experience
  • Ensure schedules are accurate based on provider preferences and office standards
  • Meet performance measures and complete job functions by review deadlines
  • Work collaboratively with staff and management

Communication:

  • Maintain confidentiality regarding patients, families, employees, and service-specific information
  • Answer and route phone calls appropriately; record and deliver messages when necessary
  • Use appropriate diction and grammar in conversations

Customer Service:

  • Employ professional manners and tact in all dealings
  • Remain courteous and calm during interruptions
  • Adhere to hospital confidentiality policies

Service Specific Skills:

  • Distribute messages, packages, and supplies appropriately
  • Implement daily operations of specific services or environments
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment

Equipment:

  • Display competency with PC terminals, telephones, copiers, email systems, fax machines

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; business school or secretarial training is a plus
  • One to two years of experience preferred
  • Participate in ongoing education to maintain knowledge and skills

Additional Requirements:

  • Proficiency with multi-line phones, PC software, office equipment, and service-related terminology
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Customer service orientation

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

  • Office setting with exposure to Class I or II hazards; remote work possible post-training
  • Light physical work: standing, walking, sitting, lifting

Work Contact Group: All services, employees, medical staff, patients, visitors, regulatory and professional agencies.

Supervised By: Manager or Coordinator

Pay Range: $17.75-$23.60, based on experience, skills, education, and location.
