Job summary

Job description

Under the general supervision of the Program Support Supervisor, the Medical Program Assistant – Associate is responsible for providing program and patient scheduling assistance to the supervisory, professional and administrative staff of the Health Service Unit. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, patient scheduling, maintenance of the medical records system, preparation and handling of incoming and outgoing correspondence, release of information, patient file reviews, maintenance of computer databases and other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements
  • 1 year patient scheduling experience in a clinical setting OR 1 year previous experience working as a CNA or Medical Assistant.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Must maintain certification in BLS by the American Heart Association and training in the use of the AED and have the ability to perform BLS and/or first aid to prevent loss of life and relieve suffering until appropriate care arrives.
