Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking a Full Time Guest Services/Registration professional in Denver, CO. The role involves welcoming patients, verifying demographics and insurance, registering for services, collecting payments, and coordinating with clinical teams to ensure smooth patient flow.

The position emphasizes accurate data entry, effective communication, and adherence to financial and privacy guidelines, with opportunities for career development within the AdventHealth system.

Qualifications

• Associate or higher in health services administration or related field preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ years in customer service and medical office setting with terminology, coding, charge entry and collections preferred.
• Prior collections experience preferred.
• CHAA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answers incoming calls and directs to appropriate personnel.
• Welcomes patients, verifies demographics, insurance and billing information and enters data into systems.
• Registers patients for services, ensures accuracy and supports discharge and reimbursement.
• Clarifies eligibility and benefits to support post-care financial needs.
• Maintains open communication between clinical, ancillary and patient access teams.
• Provides timely coverage for the assigned work area to meet patient needs.
• Performs duties to ensure smooth operation of the Guest Services department.
• Promotes a safe work environment.
• Communicates patient status to team members and informs patients of updates.
• Educates patients on test locations and patient portal use; explains follow-up actions.
• Collects co-pays and outstanding balances at check-in as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Answers incoming phone calls, responds to inquiries, and directs calls appropriately.
• Welcomes patients; updates, verifies, and enters patient demographics, insurance, and billing information and processes forms into appropriate systems.
• Registers patients for services, ensures accuracy, facilitates timely discharge, and maximizes reimbursement.
• Ensures all financial assessments, eligibility, and benefits memos are clear, updated, and thorough to support post-care financial needs.
• Maintains a working relationship with clinical partners to ensure open communication between clinical, ancillary, and patient access departments, enhancing patient experiences.
• Provides timely and continual coverage of assigned work area to offer prompt patient service and availability for all clinical partners’ registration needs.
• Performs specialty services and duties as requested to ensure the smooth operation of the Guest Services departments.
• Promotes a safe work environment.
• Communicates patients’ status to appropriate team members and keeps patients apprised to maintain effective operational flow.
• Provides education to patients regarding test locations, patient portal use, and follow-up (non-clinical) actions.
• Requests co-pays and/or outstanding balance at the time of check-in respectfully but firmly.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Associate and/or higher-level education or completed coursework in health services administration or other related medical or business field. [Preferred]
• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

• Associate's Degree in Health Services Administration or other related medical or business field Preferred

Work Experience

• 1+ customer services and medical office or equivalent with medical terminology, coding, charge entry and payment collection. [Preferred]

Licenses And Certifications

• Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) [Preferred]

Pay Range

$19.77 - $31.63
