Job summary

BayCare Health System is seeking a Medical Office Rep in Largo, FL to support the physician office health care team. The role involves greeting patients, collecting information, scheduling appointments, and assisting with billing questions in a full-time, on-site setting.

Qualifications

• High School or Equivalent.
• 6 months of healthcare experience or 6 months of Customer Service.
• Medical front desk experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greets and checks in patients.
• Obtains patient information and schedules appointments.
• Assists with patient inquiries and billing questions.
• May coordinate for other procedures and laboratory visits.
• Posts payments and handles one-on-one patient coordination.
• Ensures accuracy of encounter forms before checkout.
• Sorts and distributes mail and copies medical records.

The Medical Office Rep is responsible for:

• Supports the physician's office health care team

• Greets and signs in patients

• Obtains patient information

• Schedules patient appointments

• Assists with patient inquiries

• May arrange for other procedures

• Laboratory and consultations with referral doctors

• Collects and posts payments

• Assists patients with billing questions

• Ensures completeness of encounter form prior to patient checkout

• Sorts and distributes mail

• Copies medical records

Required Education:

• High School or Equivalent

Required Experience:

• Required 6 months of healthcare
• Or 6 months of Customer Service
• Highly preferred medical front desk experience
