Valor Healthcare is looking for a passionate Medical Office Receptionist to join our team at the Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) in New Braunfels. In exchange for your dedication and experience, we offer a competitive salary, excellent benefits, generous time off, and a weekday schedule.

Valor operates more than 50 VA CBOCs in the U.S. as a contractor for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, providing a full range of services including primary care, diagnostics, laboratory, telehealth, behavioral health, and more.

As a Medical Office Receptionist, you will support patient care by providing administrative support, managing patient information, verifying clinical reminders, checking patients in/out, scheduling appointments, answering phones, and ensuring compliance with healthcare standards. You will deliver excellent customer service to veterans and support clinic outreach and enrollment initiatives.

Core Responsibilities

  • Assist with administrative tasks related to patient care.
  • Input patient data into VISTA/CPRS.
  • Verify and complete clinical reminders before patient checkout.
  • Check patients in and out of the clinic.
  • Schedule appointments and relay messages promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with OIG, JC, EOC, and lab standards.
  • Maintain data accuracy and adhere to VA guidelines.
  • Provide excellent customer service to veterans, colleagues, and visitors.
  • Participate in outreach events and support patient enrollment and follow-up.
  • Support new clinical and operational initiatives.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
  • Strong computer skills; EMR experience preferred.
  • High-quality customer service and organizational skills.
  • At least 1 year of clinical or call center experience preferred.
  • Credentialed and in good standing with the Veterans Health Administration.
  • Current BLS certification (renew as required) and ACLS as per contract.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Energetic and optimistic demeanor.
  • This is a safety-sensitive position.
