Valor Healthcare is seeking a passionate Medical Office Receptionist to join our team at the Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) in New Braunfels. We offer a competitive salary, excellent benefits, generous time off, and a weekday schedule in exchange for your dedication and experience.

Valor operates over 50 VA CBOCs nationwide as a contractor for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, offering services including primary care, diagnostics, laboratory, telehealth, behavioral health, and more.

As a Medical Office Receptionist, you will provide prescribed medical treatment and personal care services to patients with diseases and injuries seeking treatment in the clinic, as directed by physicians or mid-level providers. You will collaborate with the core PACT Team (Primary Care Provider, RN, and Medical Assistant) and the expanded PACT Team, including family/caregivers, VA, and community-based services involved in developing the patient care plan.

Core Responsibilities
  • Assist with administrative support related to patient care.
  • Input all patients' information into VISTA/CPRS.
  • Verify clinical reminders "due" at each patient visit are completed prior to check-out.
  • Check patients in and out of the clinic.
  • Schedule clinic appointments.
  • Answer phones and relay messages promptly.
  • Fulfill compliance requirements of the Office of Inspector General (OIG), Joint Commission (JC), Environment of Care (EOC), lab compliance, and other related items.
  • Provide excellent customer service to veterans, colleagues, and visitors, both in person and over the phone.
  • Participate in outreach events to support enrollment initiatives.
  • Support patient enrollment and retention in appointments, follow-ups, or nurse visits.
  • Support and embrace new clinical or operational initiatives.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
  • Strong computer skills; EMR experience preferred.
  • High-quality customer service and organizational skills.
  • Minimum 1-year experience in a clinical or call center environment (preferred).
  • Credentialed and in good standing with the Veterans Health Administration (VA).
  • Current Basic Life Support certification (renewed as required) and ACLS as specified by VAMC contract.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Energetic and optimistic demeanor.
  • This is a safety-sensitive position.
