Job summary

Responsibilities include registering patients, collecting vitals, and assisting with procedures. The ideal candidate holds Medical Assistant certification, CPR, and relevant clinical experience (venipuncture, phlebotomy).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Graduation from an accredited training program or 2 years supervised work in a medical setting.
• Medical Assistant certification required.
• Demonstrated venipuncture skill.
• CPR certification required.
• General understanding of basic accounting principles.
• Knowledge of payer requirements for referrals and pre-authorization.
• Knowledge of GE, EPIC or similar billing system.
• Medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Gathers and documents brief history and chief complaint in the medical record.
• Obtains necessary blood and urine specimens.
• Performs routine office testing (phlebotomy, urinalysis, vitals, vision/hearing checks).
• Assists provider with procedures and minor surgical procedures.
• Prepares patient for examination and coordinates testing as needed.
