Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Graduation from an accredited training program or 2 years of supervised work experience in a medical setting.
• Medical Assistant certification required.
• Demonstrated venipuncture skill.
• CPR certification required.
• Knowledge of payer requirements for referrals and pre-authorization.
• Knowledge of GE, EPIC or similar computerized billing system.
• Medical terminology preferred.

Aufgaben

• Gathers and documents brief history and chief complaint in the medical record.
• Follows guidelines to obtain necessary testing prior to the exam.
• Performs routine office testing, including phlebotomy, sweat and hydration tests, urinalysis, vision testing, hearing screening, pulmonary function testing, temperature, pulse and BP.
• Assists provider with procedures and minor surgical procedures.
• Obtains necessary blood and urine specimens.
