Qualifications

• Ability to perform all medical assisting responsibilities under state and faculty guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Gathers and documents brief history and chief complaint in the medical record.
• Obtains necessary testing based on the chief complaint and prepares patient for exam.
• Performs routine office testing (phlebotomy, urinalysis, vision/hearing, etc.).
• Assists provider with procedures and minor surgical procedures.
• Obtains specimens for diagnostic testing including cultures as needed.
• Administers and documents injections and other medications.
• Clarifies patient instruction such as test preparation and medication administration.
• Exhibits compassion and empathy for patients and families.
