Job summary

Maui Medical Group is seeking a Medical Office Assistant (MOA) to support the Nursing department in Kihei, HI. The MOA coordinates appointments, referrals, and forms, updates patient information, and answers phones.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One year of medical receptionist experience preferred.
  • Basic office equipment and PC familiarity desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Answers incoming calls and routes as needed; takes RX messages and assists with appointments.
  • Prepares patient information for visits; assists with EMR, labs, reports, and referrals.
  • Verifies insurance; informs patients of co-pays, deposits, and referrals needed at appointments.
  • Updates physician templates for openings, closings, and rescheduling of appointments.
  • Supports patients and families; protects confidentiality; maintains professional interactions.
  • Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned and adheres to policies and procedures.
  • Maintains time and attendance in accordance with company policy.
  • Demonstrates quality work and timely completion of tasks.
