Job summary

Sweet James Accident Attorneys is seeking an experienced Medical Lien Negotiator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have lien negotiation experience within personal injury or workers’ compensation, plus strong negotiation and communication skills.

In this role, you will negotiate with health insurers, hospitals, and medical providers, handle a variety of lien types, and maintain meticulous records while managing a high-volume caseload. Bilingual Spanish is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of lien negotiation/resolution experience in personal injury or workers’ compensation.
• Experience negotiating with health insurers, hospitals, and medical providers.
• Strong negotiation, organizational, and communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate and resolve pre- and post-settlement medical liens.
• Handle Medicare, Medicaid/Medi-Cal, ERISA, health insurance, hospital, EMS, and private provider liens.
• Communicate with government agencies, insurance carriers, hospitals, and medical providers.
• Maintain accurate lien documentation and electronic case files.
• Manage deadlines and a high-volume caseload efficiently.
• Identify opportunities to reduce liens and maximize client recoveries.
• Communicate professionally with clients and internal teams as needed.
