Job summary

Sweet James LLP in Newport Beach is seeking an experienced Medical Lien Negotiator to join our growing team. The role focuses on negotiating and resolving medical liens for personal injury and workers’ compensation cases.

The ideal candidate has 1+ year of lien negotiation experience, strong negotiation and communication skills, and the ability to manage a high-volume caseload. Spanish bilingual skills are preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of lien negotiation/resolution experience in personal injury or workers’ compensation.
• Experience negotiating with health insurers, hospitals, and medical providers.
• Strong negotiation, organizational, and communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate and resolve pre- and post-settlement medical liens.
• Handle Medicare, Medicaid/Medi-Cal, ERISA, health insurance, hospital, EMS, and private provider liens.
• Communicate with government agencies, insurance carriers, hospitals, and medical providers.
• Maintain accurate lien documentation and electronic case files.
• Manage deadlines and a high-volume caseload efficiently.
• Identify opportunities to reduce liens and maximize client recoveries.
• Communicate professionally with clients and internal teams as needed.
