Qualifications

• Current CLS MT license issued by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners.
• Current MLT license issued by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners.
• Blood bank experience preferred.
• Ability to apply practices, procedures, and techniques to resolve clearly defined work-related issues.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and special clinical laboratory tests on patient specimens.
• Interprets data and reports laboratory test results.
• Maintains and troubleshoots equipment; prepares reagents.
• Instructs students and new employees.
• Communicates with physicians, nursing staff, and colleagues.
• Attends departmental and continuing education meetings.
