Job summary

Baton Rouge General Medical Center is seeking Medical Technologist or Medical Lab Technologist to join our clinical laboratory team. The role involves performing routine and specialized laboratory tests on patient specimens, interpreting results, and maintaining instrument performance.

Qualifications

• Current Clinical Laboratory Scientist (MT) license issued by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners required.
• Or Clinical Laboratory Technician (MLT) license issued by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners required.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and special clinical laboratory tests on patient specimens.
• Interprets data based on techniques and instruments.
• Investigates problems and maintains equipment.
• Prepares reagents and instructs students and new employees.
• Performs data entry and interpretation of test results.
• Communicates with physicians and nursing staff.
