Job summary

Lake Charles Memorial Health System is seeking a Medical Technologist to perform a wide range of laboratory tests and analyses with accuracy and timeliness. You will calibrate instruments, verify results, and maintain quality control across hematology, chemistry, microbiology and serology.

The role requires a Bachelor's in medical technology, a one-year internship, and Louisiana CLS-Generalist license with MT (ASCP) or equivalent certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in medical technology or related field and internship.
• Louisiana CLS-Generalist license; MT (ASCP) or equivalent certification.
• Sound computer skills; ability to train and supervise students.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality control to ensure accuracy of clinical data.
• Maintain and calibrate lab instruments; document maintenance.
• Analyze body fluids to detect normal and abnormal components.
• Enter test results into the computer system and report findings.
• Train and supervise students; meet turnaround times.
• Communicate critical results per guidelines; notify Pathologist.
