Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Mainland in Texas City is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician PRN to perform routine and specialized laboratory testing under supervision. You will uphold high standards of accuracy, safety, and patient care in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Under the General supervision of the Laboratory Manager, you will maintain competencies, report results, and collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to support quality patient outcomes and efficient lab operations.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in MLT/CLT or equivalent per CLIA guidelines.
• MLT (ASCP) or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of clinical laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine to specialized bacteriological, hematological, chemical, immunological, serological and immunoassay procedures on body fluids.
• Maintain required competencies and ensure accuracy of all testing.
• Adhere to patient safety, infection control and quality control policies and procedures.
• Communicate results effectively with physicians, nurses, and care teams to support patient care.

Education

Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT/CLT) from an accredited institution.

CLIA guidelines for MLT/CLT

MLT (ASCP) or equivalent preferred

Minimum 1 year of clinical laboratory experience preferred
