Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician PRN to join the lab team. The role involves collecting blood, conducting tests, and entering results into the LIS, with duties in hematology, chemistry, immunohematology, POCT, and urinalysis.

The candidate should hold an MLT or equivalent certification, preferably with an associates degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Technology, and about one year of lab experience.

Qualifications

• Must possess MLT or equivalent certification, or be eligible to sit for MLT certification.
• Certification as MLT (ASCP) is required or preferred.
• Requires Associate degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
• Experience: Prefer one year of experience in one of the Laboratory Sciences.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood samples, perform tests, and input patient information and results.
• Maintain proficiency in hematology, chemistry, immunohematology (blood bank), POCT, and urine microscopy.
• Follow protocol for reporting critical values and delta checks.
• Ensure proper use and inventory of reagents and supplies; date all opened reagents.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of the work area and adhere to Code of Conduct.
