Job summary

Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers in Pueblo, CO is seeking a full-time Medical Laboratory Technician for a key role in the laboratory team. You will perform phlebotomy, specimen handling, and analysis across chemistry, hematology and immunology, while maintaining equipment and following QC policies.

The position includes proficiency testing participation and documentation responsibilities. Ideal candidates hold an associate degree in medical technology or lab science, with license if required, and

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in medical technology or laboratory science.
  • Current state license if required.
  • AMT, ASCP or equivalent certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform phlebotomy and sample collection procedures.
  • Follow procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting, and records.
  • Perform specimen analysis of Chemistry, Hematology and Immunology specimens.
  • Maintain and operate laboratory equipment with routine maintenance.
  • Adhere to quality control policies and document QC activities and calibrations.
  • Participate in proficiency testing and report results annually.
  • Prepare peripheral blood smears and perform WBC differential.
  • Microscopically examine urinary sediment and document results.
  • Process specimens for send-out testing and manage records.
