Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers in Pueblo is seeking a full-time Medical Laboratory Technician to join our laboratory team. This role performs phlebotomy, processes specimens, and analyzes chemistry, hematology, and immunology tests to deliver accurate results.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in medical technology or laboratory science.
• Current state license if required.
• AMT, ASCP or equivalent certification preferred but not required.
• Strong phlebotomy skills.
• Background check and non-federal drug test post offer of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy and sample collection procedures.
• Follow procedures for specimen handling, processing, reporting, and record-keeping.
• Perform analysis of Chemistry, Hematology, and Immunology specimens.
• Maintain and operate laboratory equipment and perform instrument maintenance.
• Adhere to QC policies and document calibrations and maintenance.
• Participate in proficiency testing and report results annually.
• Prepare peripheral blood smears and perform WBC differentials.
• Microscopically examine urinary sediment.
• Record results and process send-out testing.
• Follow policies when test systems deviate; document corrective actions.
• Maintain QA documentation logs and verify critical results.
• Maintain inventory and prepare reagents; restock as needed.
• Send specimens to reference labs as needed.
• Process incoming orders including reference lab specimens.
