Qualifications

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Medical Technologist, you will perform moderate and high complexity testing, analyze, review, and report test results, and ensure specimen integrity by following laboratory procedures.

This position is for weekends only: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 5:30 AM to 6:00 PM.

You will:

  • Receive specimens, print labels, and verify patient data accurately.
  • Operate and troubleshoot test systems.
  • Identify problems affecting test performance or reporting.
  • Ensure age-appropriate test selection and reference ranges.
  • Ensure timely results.
  • Perform quality control and respond to outliers.
  • Participate in proficiency testing.
Job Requirements

Experience

  • Preferred: 3 years in an acute care hospital laboratory.

Education

  • Bachelor’s in Medical Technology or related field.
  • Completion of clinical rotation, internship, or military training eligible for certification exam.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Certified Medical Technologist by ASCP, NCA, AMT, or equivalent.
