Qualifications

• Bachelor's in medical technology, medical laboratory science, clinical laboratory science, or chemical, physical or biological science.
• Copy of Transcript
• Work Experience Required - None.
• Current Clinical Lab Scientist Generalist license in state of practice (or within 180 days of hire).
• ASCP, AMT or AAB generalist certification as Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• ASCP/AAB certification if working in designated Academic Medical Center facility.
• ASCP Certification Maintenance Program compliance for incumbents certified after Jan 1, 2004.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and/or specialized laboratory testing independently within established time frames.
• Performs quality control and maintains/troubleshoots instruments; documents corrective actions.
• Adheres to safety guidelines and regulatory requirements; ensures compliance with accreditation standards.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient information and supports cost reduction initiatives by managing supplies.
• Communicates effectively with colleagues and patients as needed.
