Ochsner Health is seeking a Lab professional to receive, prepare, and analyze specimens, perform tests, and ensure quality control in a patient-focused environment.

The role requires a Bachelor's in medical technology or related field, state licensure or trainee permit with 90-day licensure, and certification within 90 days (ASCP/AMT/AAB). Candidates should have strong data entry, communication, and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in medical technology, medical laboratory science, clinical laboratory science, or chemical/physical/biological science.
• Current CLS Generalist license or Generalist Trainee permit in the state of practice and must obtain license within 90 days of hire.
• ASCP, AMT or AAB generalist certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire; specific discipline certifications only for designated facilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform, develop and interpret routine and/or specialized laboratory testing independently within established time frames.
• Record quality control and instrument maintenance data; escalate when results are out of control and document corrective actions.
• Adhere to regulatory guidelines and accreditation standards; follow safety and proficiency testing protocols.
• Participate in performance improvement by data collection/analysis and support cost reduction by managing supplies.
• Adapt communication to patient population and obtain permissions as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned and comply with all policies.
