Job summary

ConnectedHealth is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) to perform routine and complex diagnostic tests across multiple laboratory departments. The role supports accurate results and high-quality patient care, including blood specimen collection, testing, and reporting findings to physicians.

Responsibilities include operating and maintaining lab equipment, ensuring quality control, and following OSHA safety guidelines. On-call rotations nights/weekends/holidays are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field; foreign equivalents accepted.
• Active ASCP or AMT certification.
• Knowledge of lab testing procedures, specimen handling, quality control, and safety practices.
• Ability to perform accurate diagnostic testing and thorough documentation.
• Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and teamwork in a clinical lab.
• Willing to rotate on-call at nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex laboratory tests across multiple departments.
• Collect, process, test, and store blood specimens with accurate records.
• Conduct chemical, hematological, bacteriological, immunological, and serological tests.
• Examine blood samples for cell counts, morphology, types, and transfusion compatibility.
• Perform venipunctures and skin punctures per protocols.
• Operate, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot lab equipment.
• Document and report findings and discuss results with physicians.
• Prepare specimens for reference testing.
