Qualifications

• BS in Medical Technology preferred; or BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology or an Associates in Laboratory Science; or prior qualification under 42 CFR 493.

Responsibilities

• Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, and reporting.
• Maintain records proving proficiency testing samples are tested like patient specimens.
• Analyze specimens using approved testing procedures.
• Review and release test results.
• Follow CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA and safety guidelines.
• Follow policies when test systems deviate from acceptable performance.
• Identify and communicate problems affecting test performance or results.
