Job summary

North Memorial Health in Minnesota is seeking a Medical Laboratory Assistant to collect and process patient specimens and perform a range of clinical laboratory tests to support diagnosis and treatment. You will work with infants to geriatrics and collaborate across departments to ensure accurate results.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, completion of an accredited phlebotomy or medical assistant program, and at least one year of laboratory experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Accredited program in phlebotomy or medical assisting preferred.
• Minimum one year of laboratory experience in a clinic or hospital setting.
• Course in medical terminology and two semesters of biology/chemistry.

Responsibilities

• Collect and process patient specimens.
• Perform and evaluate a range of clinical laboratory tests.
• Assist in diagnosis and monitoring of patient treatment.
• Work with multiple departments to ensure accurate results.
