Job summary

Patient First in Maryland is seeking a compassionate Laboratory Technician to support specimen collection, testing, and reporting. You will follow lab procedures, maintain quality controls, and ensure accurate documentation while delivering friendly service to patients.

The role requires high school diploma or equivalent, college chemistry/biology coursework, and professional certifications are preferred. This position offers competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Keyboarding experience required.
• One year of clerical and/or clinical experience preferred.
• Completion of college credits with chemistry, biology and medical lab techniques.
• ASCP certification preferred or registry-eligible.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Follow laboratory procedures for specimen collection, handling, and processing, as well as test analyses and reporting.
• Document all quality controls activities, instrument and procedural calibrations, and maintenance.
• Identify indicators that may impact test performance and notify Lab Supervisor.
• Order, receive, and distribute laboratory stock as needed in laboratory and treatment area.
• Understand all checklists and perform duties on the checklists.
• Adhere to safety policies defined by Patient First and OSHA.
• Provide positive, warm, friendly customer service in all interactions.
• Foster teamwork and a positive, professional atmosphere.
• Complete other duties as directed.
