Get to Know Your Team:

• Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center is a 128-bed, full-service, acute-care community hospital with a new emergency department, a state-of-the-art maternity center, a women's imaging center, and an ICU.

Responsibilities:

• The Medical Lab Technician (MLT) functions as a professional responsible for performing clinical laboratory testing related to patient care and diagnosis.
• This position performs routine and special laboratory procedures, quality control, preventative maintenance, minor equipment repairs, inventory control, and statistical compilation.
• Participates in quality assurance, performance improvement, laboratory education, new employee training, and proficiency testing as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technician studies or a related chemical, physical, or biological science.
• ASCP or equivalent certification, maintained without lapse during employment. If certification lapses, the role is downgraded to non-certified Medical Laboratory Technician until reinstated.
• Current knowledge of clinical laboratory techniques and principles.
• Previous clinical laboratory experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician or in related roles.
