Position details:

• Full-Time (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday: 2pm-12:30am)
• Weekend on-call rotation
• Holidays on rotation

Job summary:

Responsible for performing routine and advanced procedures in the General Laboratory section under direct supervision. Ensures accurate results and proper use of quality control materials. Recognizes test interdependencies and conditions affecting results. Corrects own errors and maintains complex instruments. May oversee work during absence. Must work rotating weekends, holidays, and shifts.

Qualifications:

• No criminal offenses related to healthcare
• Not federally debarred or excluded from health care programs
• Registered (or eligible) Medical Laboratory Technician through ASCP, HEW, AMT, or equivalent
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work with minimal supervision occasionally

Physical requirements:

• Ability to work in a latex environment
• Good hearing and speech clarity
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to operate technical equipment safely
• Motor skills for specimen collection, equipment handling, and administrative tasks
• Correctable vision to read test results; color vision evaluated as needed
• Ability to handle chemicals and bloodborne pathogens safely per OSHA guidelines
