• Hillcrest Hospital Cushing is a 99-bed community-owned facility offering 24-hour emergency services, cardiology, general surgery, orthopedics, diagnostic imaging, withdrawal stabilization, wound care, and urology.

Responsibilities

• The Medical Lab Technician functions as a professional responsible for performing clinical laboratory testing related to patient care and diagnosis.
• This position performs routine and special laboratory procedures, quality control, preventative maintenance, minor equipment repairs, inventory control, and statistical compilation.
• Participates in quality assurance and performance improvement tasks, new employee training, and proficiency testing as assigned.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• Associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technician studies or in a chemical, physical, or biological science.
• ASCP or equivalent certification required, with maintenance without lapse during employment. If certification lapses, the job will be downgraded to Medical Laboratory Scientist (non-certified) until certification is reinstated.
• 5+ years of clinical laboratory experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician within a clinical laboratory.
• Current knowledge of clinical laboratory techniques and principles.
