Job Description

This position is contingent upon contract award and is based on the coast of Africa.

Support US Government operations at a remote facility, working within a close-knit team that fosters learning and excellence. Use your skills to contribute to successful missions.

Role Overview

The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) represents International SOS and performs laboratory tests, including microscopic, bacteriological, hematologic, immunologic, and chemical analyses on various biological samples to aid in disease diagnosis and management.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect and process biological specimens for testing.
• Conduct routine and specialized laboratory tests.
• Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
• Follow safety protocols and ensure a clean environment.
• Accurately record and report test results promptly.
• Collaborate with medical staff to interpret results and ensure quality care.
• Participate in Mass Casualty exercises and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements/Certifications

• At least 3 years recent experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician, including 6 months within the last year.
• Certification through ASCP, AMT, NCALP, or AAB.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Proficiency in English communication.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and EMR systems.
• Experience working on a military site as a subcontractor or prime contractor.

Education

• Associate's degree in medical laboratory technology or related field.

Physical Requirements

• Must meet pre-deployment physical standards.
• Ability to sit, stand, bend, stoop, and lift up to 25 lbs.

Other Qualifications

• US or Permanent Resident Card required.
• Valid US Passport with at least 6 months before expiration, maintained during stay.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
• Must be willing to relocate for the duration of the project.
