Job summary

Mercy Health System is seeking a Laboratory Support Technician (LST III) to support care teams with reports, data and scheduling for the laboratory. The role emphasizes accurate, timely laboratory support and HIPAA-compliant handling of specimens and reports in a patient‑facing environment.

The LST III will perform specimen collection, processing, transport, and limited testing while assisting technologists and maintaining Mercy’s service standards.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience: One year phlebotomy or clinical laboratory experience.
• Previous Mercy LST II designation or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Acquire specimens for laboratory testing using safe, accurate, professional methods.
• Handle processing, transport and referral of all laboratory specimens and reports.
• Assist technologists and perform limited laboratory testing as required.
