Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent education and training as defined by CLIA.
• MLT registry eligible or equivalent required within one year of hire.
• MLT (ASCP/AMT) or equivalent certification; military medical laboratory training programs acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Follows testing procedures and QA guidelines for equipment and work area, documenting corrective action for non-conforming events.
• Prepares reagents and maintains inventory to reduce departmental waste and expense.
• Exercises clinical judgment to prioritize tests and troubleshoot with appropriate department channels or specialists.
• Reviews and revises procedures to maintain accreditation and regulatory compliance (CAP, TJC, OSHA).
• Maintains clear real-time communication shift-to-shift with leadership regarding issues affecting patient care or operations.
• Participates in staff meetings, task forces, or projects to implement changes.

Education

Associate degree or CLIA-defined education

MLT registry eligible
