Mercy Health is seeking a Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) for Marcum & Wallace Hospital to perform routine tests on blood and body specimens, delivering timely and accurate results to physicians. The MLS must uphold patient safety and maintain strong quality control in a clinical lab environment.

The role requires a BS in a CLIA-approved program and MLS certification or eligibility (ASCP preferred). Externship experience is preferred, and the successful candidate will join a mission-driven,

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, Biology or Biochemistry from a CLIA-approved program.
• MLS Certification or eligible by a nationally recognized certification agency (preferably ASCP) (required)
• Externship completion preferred

Responsibilities

• Performs analytical tests on biological specimens accurately and efficiently.
• Determines specimen acceptability by visual inspection and result review.
• Performs quality control and ensures results meet established ranges.
• Maintains safety and equipment checks, and troubleshoots lab instruments.
• Other duties as assigned
