Job summary

Mercy Health in Irvine, KY is seeking a Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) at Marcum & Wallace Hospital. The MLS performs routine tests on blood and tissue specimens and delivers quality results to physicians using a range of laboratory instruments.

You must hold a Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science (or related field) through a CLIA approved program and MLS certification or be eligible (ASCP). Externship preferred, with emphasis on patient safety and accuracy.

Qualifications

• BS in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, Biology or Biochemistry (CLIA approved)
• MLS Certification or eligible (ASCP) is required

Responsibilities

• Performs analytical tests on biological specimens in compliance with procedures
• Determines acceptability of specimens by inspection or abnormal results
• Performs quality control and ensures results are within established ranges
• Maintains a safe work environment and troubleshoots equipment
• Other duties as assigned
