Job summary
Mercy Health is seeking a Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) for Marcum & Wallace Hospital to perform routine tests on blood and tissue specimens and provide physicians with accurate results. The role requires a BS in a CLIA-approved program and MLS certification or eligibility, with externship preferred.

Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in CLIA-approved program or equivalent.
- MLS Certification or eligible by ASCP required.
- Externship completion preferred.
Responsibilities
- Performs analytical tests on biological specimens accurately and timely.
- Determines specimen acceptability by visual inspection and result review.
- Recognizes factors affecting measurements and takes appropriate actions per protocol.
- Conducts quality control to ensure reliable patient results.
- Maintains a safe, clean, and efficient lab environment; monitors equipment and temperatures.
- Other duties as assigned.
