Job summary

Boston Children's Hospital seeks a Clinical Laboratory Technologist to perform a variety of moderate to highly complex diagnostic tests and specialized procedures. You will ensure result quality and communicate relevance to clinicians to support patient care.

The role includes supervising and training others, performing quality control and calibration, and maintaining adherence to laboratory guidelines. Strong attention to accuracy and teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or higher with ASCP/NAACLS accreditation in Medical Technology/Medical Laboratory Science required
• Bachelor's degree and ASCP/NAACLS accreditation preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of moderate and highly complex diagnostic laboratory testing
• May perform specialized procedures in laboratory sections
• Evaluate abnormal/critical results and take appropriate action
• Record results with documentation for clinical interpretation
• Perform quality control, maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of equipment
• Participate in continuing education and training
• Provide guidance to less experienced personnel
• Ensure accuracy of test results following good lab practices
• May lead in absence of supervisor/manager
• Train and teach laboratory personnel
• May perform testing unique to the discipline
