Job summary

AdventHealth in Tampa, FL is seeking a Laboratory Technician to support pre-analytical and analytical tasks in the clinical lab. The role involves specimen handling, equipment maintenance, data entry, and participation in proficiency testing.

You will report to the Laboratory Department and collaborate with clinical staff, maintaining accuracy, safety, and compliance with SOPs and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science or medical technology.
• 2+ years of clinical lab experience preferred.
• Proficiency in English and strong customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs pre-analytical activities including equipment maintenance, function checks, inventory control, supply stocking, specimen collection, processing, cleaning and disinfection.
• Conducts post-analytical activities including reporting results and providing technical support.
• Completes tests and analytical procedures according to SOPs.
• Participates in proficiency testing and adheres to regulations.
• May precept and train new staff; provides guidance to technicians.
