Job summary

Duke University Health System Clinical Laboratories in Durham, NC, seeks a Medical Lab Scientist for the Central Automated Lab, Monday–Friday 7:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m. with rotating weekends, to perform routine and complex tests. ASCP certification preferred; a B.S. in Chemical/Physical/Biological/Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology.
• Certification preferred.
• None required experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex laboratory tests to obtain data for diagnosis and treatment.
• Operate and calibrate laboratory instrumentation and maintain QC/QA records.
• Assist in lab inspections and safety/compliance activities.
• Support development of new tests and techniques and participate in team meetings.
