Job summary

Duke University Health System Clinical Laboratories is seeking a Medical Lab Scientist in the Central Automated Lab at Duke University Hospital. Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., with rotating weekends.

ASCP certification strongly preferred and a Bachelor’s degree in a CLS-related field is required. The role involves performing routine and complex tests, maintaining instrumentation, assuring quality control, and supporting inspections.

Qualifications

• Education: BSc/BA in Chemical, Physical, Biological, or Clinical Laboratory Science; or Medical Technology.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex tests to obtain data for diagnosis.
• Operate and calibrate laboratory instrumentation.
• Maintain quality control and participate in lab safety and inspections.
• Document results and communicate issues to senior staff.
