Job summary

Duke Health seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist in the Central Automated Lab at Duke University Hospital. The role involves performing tests, calibrating instruments, interpreting results, and ensuring quality control under CLIA standards.

ASCP certification is strongly preferred. The position is Monday–Friday, 3:30 p.m.–12:00 a.m., with rotating weekends. A 5,000 commitment bonus may apply for a 1-year commitment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or BA in Chemical, Physical, Biological, or Clinical Laboratory Science; or Medical Technology.
• ASCP certification strongly preferred.
• Experience: None required.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of tests in clinical laboratories using standard techniques and equipment.
• Calibrate and maintain instrumentation according to standard operating procedures.
• Process patient samples for testing and ensure quality material for testing.
• Perform proficiency testing and document quality control results.
• Review procedures and participate in lab inspections and safety training.
