Olympic Sports & Spine (OSS) is seeking a Medical Insurance Authorization Specialist for our in-office billing team in Tacoma, WA. This full-time role focuses on timely pre-authorizations with strong time management and HIPAA compliance to support patient care and clinic operations.

Qualifications

• Experience processing medical insurance authorizations.
• Strong time-management skills and ability to prioritize.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and patient privacy requirements.
• Ability to coordinate with front desk and billing teams.

Responsibilities

• Review referrals for accuracy and completeness and coordinate with therapists and staff to obtain required documentation.
• Monitor authorization status and follow up with insurance carriers; document all updates.
• Ensure authorizations are obtained for the next-day patients or notify staff if not possible.
• Enter detailed notes into the EMR and maintain accurate records of interactions with insurers, patients, and billing personnel.
