Idaho Falls Community Hospital is seeking an Imaging Scheduler/Insurance Specialist to join our team. The role involves scheduling procedures for the cardiac/imaging department, verifying pre-authorizations, and auditing billing and coding to ensure medical necessity per insurance requirements.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; BLS certification current.
• AAPC certification preferred or to be completed within 12 months of hire.
• Knowledge of CPT codes for ancillary services.
• Experience with outpatient coding and billing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer calls, schedule examinations, provide instructions, and respond to imaging questions.
• Assist Technologist with patient screening and preparation for imaging.
• Help patients change into gowns, document information, and prep for exams.
• Review physician orders and ensure prior images are available for comparison.
• Process incoming images from other facilities for comparison.
• Document patient information needed for exam interpretation and care.
• Support schedulers and technologists to help the department meet goals.

Idaho Falls Community Hospital is looking for a Imaging Scheduler/Insurance Specialist to join our team!JOB SUMMARY: The Scheduler schedules procedures and appointments for the cardiac/imaging department, pre-authorization verification, billing criteria validations, and coding auditing for Idaho Falls Community Hospital. In a professional and friendly manner, answers incoming phone calls, facilitates scheduling of exams, dispenses exam preparations and instructions, and responds to general imaging questions.2. Assist Technologist with proper and comprehensive patient screening prior to examination.3. Assists Technologist with having patients change into gowns (when necessary), screen patient and document, transport patients, and answer questions and prepare the patient for imaging procedures to make sure the patient is comfortable and at ease during the imaging process.4. Reviews physician orders and verifies we have all previous images used for comparison.5. Assists in accepting and processing incoming images from other facilities to use as comparison.6. Assists with documentation for appropriate patient information necessary for exam interpretation and patient care.7. Assists the schedulers, technologists, and other coworkers in the department as needed.8. Promotes effective working relationships and works effectively as a part of the department/team to facilitate the hospital and department’s ability to meet its goals and objectives.9. Troubleshoots technical problems and works with the vendors to resolve problems that arise.10.
