Idaho Falls Community Hospital is looking for a Technologist Assistant to join our team!

Job Summary

The Technologist Assistant is responsible for assisting the Radiologic Technologist with patients during the imaging process. The assistant will be one of the first contacts for patients, physicians, and other medical staff.

Duties and Responsibilities

• In a professional and friendly manner, answer incoming phone calls, facilitate scheduling of exams, dispense exam preparations and instructions, and respond to general imaging questions.
• Assist Technologist with proper and comprehensive patient screening prior to examination.
• Assist Technologist with having patients change into gowns (when necessary), screen patient and document, transport patients, and answer questions and prepare the patient for imaging procedures to make sure the patient is comfortable and at ease during the imaging process.
• Review physician orders and verify we have all previous images used for comparison.
• Assist in accepting and processing incoming images from other facilities to use as comparison.
• Assist with documentation for appropriate patient information necessary for exam interpretation and patient care.
• Assist the schedulers, technologists, and other coworkers in the department as needed.
• Promote effective working relationships and work effectively as a part of the department/team to facilitate the hospital and department’s ability to meet its goals and objectives.
• Troubleshoot technical problems and work with the vendors to resolve problems that arise.
• Maintain flexibility as department grows with willingness to accept additional responsibilities requested by department director.
