Job summary

Select Medical is seeking a Patient Service Specialist in Newtown, CT. This full-time role handles front-desk tasks, registers patients, schedules appointments, and communicates with insurers while supporting the outpatient physical therapy center.

You’ll be paid $19–$20 per hour, with benefits such as PTO, health plan, and 401(k). The schedule includes weekdays with evenings and a full day Friday, totaling 32–40 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Insurance verification experience preferred.
• 1 year medical office experience preferred.
• 1 year front desk experience preferred.
• 1 year scheduling experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients and provide information about what to expect during their visit and information about their next appointment as they check out
• Schedule patient appointments in person and via phone
• Regular communication with parties such as attorney offices, insurance companies and translation companies, market operational leaders and business development team
• Collect co-pays from patients, manage payer approvals and conduct insurance authorizations and verifications

Type of Employment: Full Time

Schedule: Weekdays - evenings M & W-F, full day Friday 7a-6p; 32-40 hrs/week

Compensation: $19.00 - $20.00/hour (based on experience)
