Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a medical office or billing department preferred.
• Knowledge of patient billing and medical terminology preferred.
• Excellent keyboard skills and proficiency in Windows/Microsoft Office; accuracy and dependability required.

Responsibilities

• Greets and communicates with patients in person or by phone in a courteous and professional manner.
• Answers telephones in a timely, courteous, and professional manner using appropriate scripting.
• Verifies active primary and secondary third-party payer insurance coverage eligibility with payers.
• Processes calls to ensure patients are transferred to the appropriate staff member or provider promptly.
• Schedules patient appointments based on department protocols to maximize provider productivity.
• Accurately registers patients ensuring required information is obtained and verified.
