Position Summary
We are a locally-owned urgent care company owned by physicians and we are looking to expand our operational care support team with a qualified candidate to fill a part-time front office, non‑clinical position. The role involves providing administrative support to our back office clinical team and acting as the main point person for all front office duties.
Schedule: Part‑time (3.5 shifts per week) with weekend flexibility every other week. A healthy work/life balance is emphasized.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer the telephone and direct calls to appropriate staff members.
- Register patients on the EMR system, verify insurance eligibility, and collect payments.
- Scan documents, manage incoming and outgoing mail, faxes, and emails.
- Maintain accounts receivable entries and accurate records in the computer system.
- Assist the medical team and healthcare provider in any necessary administrative capacity.
- Greet patients and visitors with a friendly and welcoming demeanor; customer service is our #1 priority.
- Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar.
- Check‑in patients, update patient records, and verify insurance information.
- Perform data entry tasks and maintain accurate, organized front‑desk area.
- Perform various miscellaneous administrative tasks as needed while working efficiently under multiple demanding tasks.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of one year experience in an administrative or front‑desk receptionist role (medical setting preferred).
- Knowledge of medical billing, coding, universal precautions, HIPAA, and OSHA (plus).
- Proficient computer skills, including Outlook, Microsoft Word, and experience using an electronic medical records system; familiarity with Google Suite or similar software is a plus.
- Clear, consistent written and oral communication skills; professional telephone etiquette.
- Team player, adaptable in fast‑paced environment, able to multitask and work independently.
