Job summary

MedSpeed in South Bend, IN is hiring a Medical Driver for Monday–Wednesday, 5:30 AM – 2:00 PM, at $15.00 per hour. You will safely drive a company vehicle, transport lab specimens and medical materials, and use a handheld scanner to track items.

Qualifications

• Must be 19 years of age with an active driver's license for 3 years.
• Must have strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated dependability and reliability.
• Familiarity working with and adapting to technology.
• Demonstrated ability to follow procedures closely.
• Ability to determine efficient routing between multiple points.
• Ability to pass initial and random drug & alcohol screens.
• Drive a non-commercial vehicle in varying weather and traffic.
• Excellent driving history.
• COVID-19 vaccination may be required depending on location.

Responsibilities

• Drive a company vehicle to transport lab specimens, medical records, pharmaceuticals, x-rays, hospital supplies and related materials.
• Operate a handheld scanner to track items through the transportation cycle.
• Observe policies, procedures and service schedules.
• Present a professional image to clients and the public.
• Load and unload items safely with appropriate equipment.
• Demonstrate safe and courteous driving behavior.
• Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain a clean vehicle.
• Adapt routes as assigned by client and business needs.
