Handi Medical is seeking a Documentation Specialist in Minnesota to review, qualify, and accept medical documentation for the timely and compliant release of durable medical equipment and supplies. The role emphasizes ensuring all documentation meets regulatory requirements and coordinating with insurers and internal teams to streamline order fulfillment.

Qualifications

• Role focuses on review, qualification, and acceptance of medical documentation to support release of DME and supplies.
• Experience in healthcare or documentation-driven roles is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review, qualify, and accept standard written orders and medical records to authorize release of durable medical equipment and supply orders.
• Ensure documentation meets federal, state, payer, and regulatory requirements prior to processing.
• Verify completeness of medical records, insurance information, prescriptions, LMN, and Face-to-Face documentation.
• Log, track, and maintain documentation to meet payer qualification standards.
• Follow up on documentation-related work queues, including authorizations and missing documents.
• Communicate with insurance providers to verify eligibility and coverage, documenting interactions.
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure smooth documentation and order fulfillment.
• Resolve customer questions and documentation issues by identifying problems and coordinating solutions.
